Congratulations to the SF Poetry Contest Winners!

Posted in Cool Writerly News by Rachel on the September 26th, 2007

You can see the results and read the poems here.  They were fantastic sonnets that won and deserved the nod I thought.  It was a cool contest and I’m glad it got me to write something I may not otherwise have written. So, now to take those poems and see if I can’t submit them somewhere else. SFPA suggests entrants submit some of their poems to these markets.  If you have anything you’ve written, you might want to check them out.

In other news, I’m going to have a busy week this week so I may not have many blogs. Going to Disneyland today. If I have anything fun to share, I’ll let you know!

Was at Disneyland yesterday. Nice and empty. In 9 hours did everything possible on the list in my head and few more. Skipped “It’s a Small World” and my brain is thankful for not waking up with that song stuck in my head. But why oh why did it wake up with Hall & Oats singing “Say It Isn’t So”?

Holy crap, Jim made us go on Splash Mountain. It took five hours for my jeans to dry out. :O

    Send your cousin on it!

Oh god! Wasn’t Disneyland perfect!?!??! Went with Heather yesterday (Wednesday) and had no more than 5-10 minute waits on everything we chose except for Nemo and Peter Pan. It was amazing!

I went on Splash Mountain, too!!!!!!!!!! I was going to try to do the waterraft ride at CA Adventure after that, but Jesse and I were still wet 5 hours later and decided we could come back another time.

The song stuck in my head after Dland is Hold On Tight To Your Dreams. I think it was one of the songs playing in CA Adventure.

Yes! It still got a bit warm during the middle of the day, but the sky has been clear and clean and it’s been sunny and beautiful. *sigh* It was nice.

I wanted to go to Disneyland too! I tried to wiggle out of my responsibilities, but one person had a strong head on their shoulders, which I guess in the long run was good because I felt like ditching everything. I hope you had fun. Also, I really love the Horror poem you read in our group meeting. You are so great with characters and plot!
